I was playing around with my dog the other day. She likes salami, but she doesn’t like remote controlled cars.

So I presented her with a dilemma - what if a delicious piece of salami was on top of a remote controlled car?

While driving the car around my house, it occurred to me that there must be a way to incorporate playing with cars (not necessarily including dogs and deli meats) and Affiliate Summit.

I thought it would be fun to have a goofy event to wrap up Affiliate Summit 2008 West, taking place February 24-26, 2008 in Las Vegas.

So here it is - the closing event of Affiliate Summit will be a charity race of remote controlled cars. We’ll create some sort of course, and anybody can enter for a fee (all proceeds to a charity we’ll be announcing soon).

It will be BYOC (bring your own car).

The winner will get a free booth for Affiliate Summit 2008 East, which will be August 10-12, 2008 in Boston.

And that’s how The Great Affiliate Road Rally was born. Just a little brainstorming over RC cars, dogs, and cold cuts.
